India Software lab (the product development arm of IBM India) is having an off-campus entry level hiring event on 01 Aug '08  in Bangalore

IBM India Software Lab (ISL) is the largest product development center for IBM outside the United States of America. ISL focuses on developing products, technology and solutions for IBM Software Group and IBM Systems & Technology Group.

IBM Software is the global leader in middleware products with offerings spanning its five brands: WebSphere, Information Management, Lotus, Tivoli, and Rational. ISL teams work on various emerging technology areas like Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), XML, Web 2.0, Application Servers, Databases, Development Tools, Content Management, Systems Management, Autonomic Computing, and Collaboration Technologies. ISL is a unique development lab for IBM in that it houses product experts and development missions for all SW brands under one roof.

IBM Systems and Technology is a leader in Servers and Storage Systems globally. Teams at ISL are involved in designing and developing Operating Systems including Linux, AIX, zOS, Storage Systems and High Performance Systems. Apart from these areas, teams also work on key technologies in the areas of Networking, File Systems, Virtualization, Super Computing, and Processor Architecture. IBM Global Engineering Solutions helps create new electronic products from entire systems to subsystems to complex chips or cards. ISL's technology projects helped build the world's first hand-held wireless device with a built-in biometric user authentication and ported Linux on a watch - the smallest device for such an application.

In conjunction with its primary focus on product development, ISL also leverages its deep development skills to work with customers by helping them solve their business problems. Dedicated customer-facing teams provide product and technology expertise spanning IBM's Software Group and Systems & Technology Group's portfolio to assist clients , globally and in India , to architect and develop across industry verticals based on IBM's middleware, operating, and storage systems. In 2006, ISL completed over 1000 customer engagements globally, with a particular focus on the Indian market and a significant number in ASEAN, Europe, and America as well. This is a 93% increase from the previous year.

2. Eligibility criteria for applying against this off-campus recruitment:
 
BE / B.Tech/ MS / MCA / M Tech in CS / CE / IT / Electronics passing out in July 2007 / 2008.
70% or  Distinction for cumulative up to 7th semester.
Should not already hold an IBM offer.

3. Process for applying:

Eligibility Criteria / Qualification are as follows:

• Course: BE/B.Tech/ MCA
• Branches: only CSE, IT & ECE
• Percentage Marks: 70% marks aggregate for all the semester results declared till date.
• The students should have completed their 8th Semester exams and No subject backlogs should be there.
• We are looking at 2007/08 Year batch
• Should not already hold an IBM offer.

Selection Process :-

• Candidates need to come with copies of the following documents

• Photo d proof . (Passport/Driving Licence/PAN Card/College ID Card if available,)
• Candidates to report to the venue by 8 AM for registration .
• The screening and registration will be done on the basis of the qualifying criteria defined .No exceptions will be provided.
• There will be a written test conducted for assessing the candidates .
• The candidates qualifying the written test will be appearing for an interview with the Selection Panel.
• This will be followed by the final interview with the Senior Manager.
• The list of selected candidates will be communicated after end of the event.
